Mud Cloth (Bogolanfini Modified) Workshop with Judy Dominic – 6 May 2017

Judy Dominic is visiting from Cincinnati, Ohio, and, for the second time, is running an exciting workshop in Mud Cloth at Meeniyan Art Gallery.  This is a workshop not to miss if you have any interest in dyeing and learning about local muds and what extraordinary designs they can make on cloth. Learn about the traditional method of bogolan fini, dying cotton cloth with mud, as well as how that process is modified two different ways in the Dominic version. During the workshop you will create your own story designs using local muds on cotton and other natural fibre cloth. Connect with the earth and gain an appreciation of the Mali culture. Beginners/intermediate dyers welcome.
